Nelson Brothers was founded by two brothers, Anton and Nels, Danish immigrants.  Settling originally in Iowa, both brothers installed irrigation lines for the farming industry.  The promise of higher pay working in the factories soon lured them to Detroit, Mi.  Unhappy with factory life, both brothers began working in the evenings and on weekends installing sewer lines as freelance contractors.  Then in 1925 they left the factory forever to pursue their dream of self-employment and Nelson Bros. was born.

In the 1950’s Nelson Bros. ownership changed to Elmer and Edwin Nelson, the son’s of Anton Nelson.  The business expanded from its primary focus of sewer installations to include sewer maintenance. Then is the early 1960’s the business further expanded it focus to include plumbing repairs and installations where the bulk of our business is concentrated today.  In 1958 Nelson Bros. built their headquarters in Royal Oak where it remains today. 

Nelson Bros. continues to be family owned and operated.  Four generations of Nelson’s have serviced residential and commercial customers in Southern Oakland County, Mi. for over 80 years.

To provide our customer’s with honest, quality service at a fair price.  We accomplish this by employing a friendly and courteous office staff whose primary focus is on customer service.  Next we employ only skilled technician’s with greater than 5 years experience that perform quality work done right the first time.  Finally, we strive for 100% customer satisfaction, should there be a problem with our workmanship we will return to correct the problem free of charge. 

It the goal of Nelson Bros. to treat each and every customer as if they were family.  To respect the customer’s property and possessions by using every measure to keep the customer’s home clean and free of debris.  To effectively communicate the steps toward solution of the problem and demonstrate the effectiveness upon completion.  Finally, to leave the customer so confident with the workmanship and so pleased with their overall experience they refer us to their friends and family.
